He was born on January 27, 1949 in Lodz. Author of experimental films, of which is also the director, cameraman, writer and scenographer. He studied at the Faculty of Cinematography in Lodz Film School (1969-1973) completed with thesis films "Take Five" and "Plamuz". In 1984, he realized first short films for the U.S. The New NBC TV shows "The Day Before" and "The Discreet Charme of the Diplomacy". Nicknamed Big Zbig for enthusiastically accepted by audiences and critics worldwide music videos for such well-known musicians and bands as John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Simple Minds, The Art of Noise, Chuck Mangione, Pet Shop Boys, Alan Parsons Project, Yoko Ono, Lou Reed, Supertramp, Rush, Lady Pank. Zbigniew Rybczynski has won many prestigious film awards in the world (Oscar, the Prix Italia, Emmy, The Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, Award of the International Electronic Film Festival in Tokyo - Montreux, MTV Video Music Awards and the Video Vanguard Award "for being a visionary of music video "American Video Awards, Monitor Awards and the Billboard Music Video Award).
He is also a lecturer and professor at the Łódź Film School, Columbia University, New York, Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne (1998-2001), Yoshiba University of Art and Design in Tokyo.
