Katarzyna Koczyńska-Kielan

Ceramic artist, a professor of the only in Poland Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design. In Katarzyna Koczyńska-Kielan 1996–2001 (two terms) she was a vice-dean of the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass, and in the period of 2005–2008 she was the head of Ceramics Department.

She runs the Studio of Potter's Wheel which she created herself, where she reactivated the course of potter's techniques by introducing an original syllabus.

In the course of 25 years of her artistic work she was awarded the Rector's Prize (1st and 2nd grade) eight times, and in 2012 she was honoured with the Medal for Merits to Culture by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

She runs workshops and presents her own artistic work by participating in a big number of international and national scientific conferences, artistic symposia and at artistic departments of high schools in France, Germany, Turkey, Portugal, Latvia and Israel among others.

 Her works were presented within almost 100 exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including 20 solo shows.

 She is an author of many ceramic works, including collections named Towers, Cathedrals, Circles of Time, Outside Landscape, Inner Landscape, and cycles of relief comppositions Physiognomy of Space and Signs
