Karol Kozłowski - tenor, graduated from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He is also a graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Kozłowski participated in master classes of R. Karczykowski, R. Panerai, S. Fisichella, S. Geszty, H. Łazarska and C. Desderi. He was awarded the second prize at the Hariclea Darclee International Voice Competition (Romania, 2005). In years 2007- 2009 he was a soloist of the Wrocław Opera, where he debuted as Alfred in Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss. Karol Kozłowski has sung on the stages of the Théâtre Montansier in Versailles, the Latvian National Opera in Rig, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and of the Kyiv Opera. Since 2009 he has collaborated with the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. During 2013/14 season, the artist is going to sing the part of Damazy in S. Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor, and of Young Servant in R. Strauss’ Elektra. Since 2010 Kozłowski has been a soloist in the Capella Cracoviensis early music ensemble. Together with Capella Cracoviensis he has performed Monteverdi’s music, Requiem and The Great Mass in C minor by W. A. Mozart. He has also sung the Evangelist’s part in both Bach’s Passions, and in his Magnificat. He has cooperated with such directors as F. Bonizzoni, A. Spering, A. Parrott, K. Junghänel and J.T. Adamus. Kozłowski participated in concert performances of G. F. Haendel’s works. The young singer has also been able to make his name as a lieder singer. He regularly participates in the Kissinger Sommer Festival in Bad Kissingen. In 2013 the artist sang chamber music by B. Britten and F. Liszt. In 2012 an album was released where the singer, accompanied by pianist J. Pawlik, recorded a cycle of F. Schubert’s songs „Die schöne Müllerin”. The CD received a Fryderyk 2013 Award nomination for chamber music; it also obtained the Commendation of the Hi-Fi & Muzyka magazine in its ranking of the best classical albums released in the year 2012. The album gained not only local but also international recognition in musical press and media i.a. Opera News - a publication of the Metropolitan Opera Guild in New York (August 2013). Karol Kozłowski has also been a nominee for the 2013 Polityka Passport Award for classical music.
