The Janoska Ensemble was founded by four brothers of the highly musical Janoska-‐family. Both as soloists and as an ensemble they have successfully performed on big stages through Europe as well as abroad such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Carnegie Hall New York or the Sydney Opera. Highly successful in various musical genres, the ensemble tours extensively with Bass-‐ baritone Erwin Schrott and his “Rojotango live” program. František Jánoška leads the ensemble. He is considered one of the most versatile pianists of the younger generation who also is a very successful composer, arranger and improviser in different genres. At five he began playing the piano. He first studied at the Conservatory in Bratislava, then he continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. František Jánoška has won numerous competitions: 1998, he received the first Prize at the European competition for young talents and was later a finalist at the International Piano Competition “Martial Solal” competition in Paris, in 2002 he finally won a sensational first Prize at the International Franz Liszt Competition in Hungary. He is a member of the Roby Lakatos Ensemble and a guest at renowned festivals and in major concert halls in the world (Carnegie Hall in New York, Vienna’s Musikverein, the Sydney Opera House, etc.). Jánoška counts Michel Camilo, Reinhard Fendrich, Arkady Volodos, Sandra Pires, Benjamin Schmid, Bobby McFerrin, Georg Breinschmid, Roy Hargrove and Biréli Lagrène to his musical partners. Both as a composer and as a soloist, he has worked – among others – with such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Odense Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Poznan Symphony Orchestra and NÖ Tonkünstler. In 2007, František was invited to join The Philharmonics as a pianist after having performed with different ensembles of the Vienna Philharmonic for several times. With the “Jánoška Ensemble”, founded by František and his three brothers, a tour with bass-baritone Erwin Schrott and his new project ”Rojotango” is about to come up. The Janoska Ensemble is involved and part of several formations.
