Grzegorz W. Kołodko is an intellectualist and politician, a professor of economic sciences, one of the key architects of Polish economic reforms. Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts. In his interdisciplinary research he deals with politics of development, long-term system changes and theoretic and practical problems of globalization.
He is a head of Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research TIGER (www.tiger.edu.pl) at the Kozminski University (www.alk.edu.pl). He lectured at many universities including Yale and UCLA in USA, at Lomonosov Moscow State University in Beijing and Shanghai.
Consultant to various international organizations, doctor honris causa on ten universities.
In 1989 he participated in historic Polish Round Table Talks. During 1989-91 he was a member of Economic Ministry Council. As a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in years 1994-97 he led Poland to achieve record growth rate in Europe and membership of OECD. Holding the same position in 2002-2003, he played an important role in integration of Poland with European Union.
He is an author and a scientific editor of 49 books and over 400 articles and scientific papers published in 26 languages of which 160 in English, and author of international bestseller “Volatile Word” (www.wedrujacyswiat.pl).Marathon runner and traveller, he visited over 160 countries.
