Friedrich Hořické performed his first piano concerto at the age of 11 in Cologne. As a 13-year-old he became the youngest student in Guenter Ludwig's class at the Academy of Music in Cologne. At the same time he attended the Apostelgymnasium. At age 18 he won first prize in the Tomassoni competition at the Music Academy in Cologne and the Busoni Piano Competition.
He continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied with Jorge Bolet, Gary Graffmana, Mieczyslava Horszowskiego und Seymour Lipkin. This resulted in a first prize at the Philadelphia Young Artists Competition, as well as concerts in America, Asia and Europe. The artist released a CD. It contains also his compositions for piano and for piano and orchestra. Since 2010 he has been the director of Schloss Ribbeck GmbH.
