Dominik Połoński - an eminent Polish cellist, winner of Paszport Polityki, Fryderyk awards, medal "Gloria Artis", award of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Competition winner: the. D. Danczowski, competition of Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, the A. Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities, Eurofonia in Bucharest, the winner of Witold Lutoslawski contest in Warsaw, J Brahms contest in Portschach. Dominik Połoński has given concerts with eminent symphonic orchestras and great chamber music performers in the concert largest halls of the world: Carnegie Hall in New York, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Salzburg Festival. In 1999 he recorded with K.Zimermanem Frederic Chopin concertos for Deutsche Grammophon label. Performed with such artists as: K. Zimerman, Lorin Maazel, Rafał Blechacz, Kirill Gerstein, Silesian String Quartet, Beethoven Quartet, Halina Czerny-Stefańska, Agnieszka Duczmal, Yaacov Bergman, Gary Karr, Cuba Jakowicz, Maximiliano Valdes, Hansjorg Schellenberger, Francesco D 'Orazzio ..
He has graduated with honors from the Łódź College in the class of prof. S. Firleja, then the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, in Natalia Szachowska's class of cello. He studied with such masters as Natalia Gutman, Frans Helmerson, Tomasz Strahl, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Eleonore Schoenfeld, Joel Krosnick, Boris Pergamenschikov, Laurence Lesser, Yo-Yo Ma. He has recorded for labels like Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical, Dux (Fryderyk Award nomination), Polish Recordings and Polish Radio (Fryderyk Award in 2006 for his recording of Schumann's cello concerto). Currently Dominik Połoński is an assistant professor and teaches cello at the University of Łódź and Krakow.
