A group composed of the leading Viennese philharmonic players founded their own chamber group called the Wiener Virtuosen. The group is composed of a string quartet with a double bass (contrabass) as well as a brass quintet, which, dependent on the repertoire played, can be expanded or reduced accordingly. The group covers a wide variety of works from all styles, from classical to modern 20th century. They have participated in number of artistic events and been on numerous concert tours across Europe, the USA and Japan. In addition, they have played with many of the world’s renowned soloists, including Dimitri Sitkovetzky, Ernst Kovacic, Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maisky, Boris Pergamenschikov, Stefan Vladar, Till Fellner, Rudolf Buchbinder, Oleg Maisenberg, Tal/Grothausen, Angelika Kirchschlager, Juliane Banse, Diana Damrau, Elina Garanca, Thomas Hampson, Michael Schade, HK Gruber, and others.
